The sizes, for reference

Custom emoji: 128×128, max 256KB (animated emoji hit this limit fast — use fewer frames or a shorter loop). Sticker: 320×320, under 500KB. Server icon: 512×512. Role icon: 64×64. Profile banner: 600×240. Server banner: 960×540 or larger. Upload limit for video: keep clips short and 720p if you don't have Nitro.

One page instead of six separate makers

Most of what gets sold as a separate tool is the same job with a different name on it. A Discord banner maker turns out 600×240 for a profile banner or 960×540 for a server banner. A Discord pfp maker and Discord avatar maker crop the same square photo, since Discord uses one image for your profile picture — a Discord profile picture maker is that identical crop. A Discord sticker maker crops to 320×320, under Discord's 500KB sticker limit. A Discord logo maker and Discord server icon maker both come out at 512×512, Discord's one icon size. A Discord role icon deserves a word of its own, because the size catches people out. A Discord role icon is 64×64 — half the width of an emoji, a quarter of the pixels — and at that size a detailed logo turns to mush. Pick something with one clear shape and heavy contrast, and check it small before you commit: it shows up next to a name in a member list, roughly the size of the text beside it. The resizer above produces the 64×64 alongside all the others, so there is nothing extra to do.

Animation is the other half. How to make a GIF for Discord comes down to the 256KB ceiling on a custom emoji, which is far tighter than it sounds — that is the whole file, every frame of it. Questions about the Discord toolkit

What size is a Discord emoji? Custom Discord emoji are 128×128 pixels, with a 256KB file limit — that limit is what usually breaks animated emoji first, since every extra frame adds to the file size. Stickers are 320×320 pixels under 500KB, server icons 512×512, profile banners 600×240 and server banners at least 960×540.

How do I get a video under Discord's upload limit? Compress it before uploading. Discord's free limit is 20 MB — it went up from 10 MB on 13 August 2026 — and the "under 20 MB" mode above takes any clip and returns an MP4 guaranteed under that, free, no watermark, no account. It keeps the resolution as high as the target allows. That button uses 20 MB and nothing else; if you need a different number (8 MB for a strict inbox, 50 MB for Nitro Basic), the full video compressor lets you pick.

How long can a Discord soundboard clip be? Discord soundboard clips are capped at 5 seconds. Trim your clip first and clean up the noise so it still reads clearly once it's short — the audio cleanup mode plus the soundboard-clip mode above cover both steps.

What runs where

The seven jobs above split across three places, and it's worth knowing which before you drop a big file in. Resizing to every Discord size and shrinking an emoji or sticker under the limit both happen on your device, in the browser tab you're looking at right now — nothing is uploaded, so there's no file-size ceiling beyond what your phone or laptop can hold in memory. Cutting a subject out and turning a clip into an animated emoji use a GPU on our side, because that kind of image work needs more compute than a browser can offer; those come back once the queue clears. Compressing a clip under the upload limit and cleaning up audio run on a regular server rather than a GPU, since both are closer to file conversion than to image generation. None of the three is "better" — they're different jobs, and the toolkit routes each one to wherever it actually gets done.
