PicReviver: bring old photos back to life

That one box of faded prints, the blurry scan of your grandparents' wedding, the only photo you have of someone: PicReviver is the family's photo-restoration specialist. Upload a photo and it repairs and sharpens the faces, lifts detail out of the blur, and can add natural color to black-and-white shots.

What it does

How it works

1 Get the photo digital

Scan the print, or photograph it evenly lit and straight-on with your phone.

2 Let the model work

Restoration runs on a real GPU: most photos are done in minutes, queued fairly.

3 Download the result

Check the before/after, download the restored file. Your upload is wiped automatically.

Honest expectations

Restoration is strongest where a face is clearly visible, since that's what the model was trained for. Very heavy damage (tears through a face, large missing areas) can improve but won't always disappear, and results on landscapes or objects are more modest than on portraits. The site tells you this up front, because a tool that overpromises wastes your time.

Goes well with

Cleaning a photo's hidden metadata before sharing it? Use the metadata remover. Want the restored photo cut out of its background, for a framed collage or a profile picture? BGNinja does that in one click. Old documents rather than photos? ScanReviver is built for paper.
