VideoBGNinja: green-screen results, no green screen
A talking-head for your stream overlay, a product spin for a promo, a clip that needs to float over your slides: VideoBGNinja removes the background from video, frame by frame, without any studio setup. AI matting keeps the subject and drops the rest.

What it does
- Background removal on video: tracks the subject across frames for stable edges without flicker. Call it a video background remover, remove video background, remove bg from video, or remove background from video — same frame-by-frame tracking, no green screen required.
- Transparent output: download a WebM with real alpha transparency, ready for editors, OBS overlays and web pages.
- Works on normal footage: filmed against your bookshelf, not a studio; no green screen or special lighting required.
- Video to GIF: a second mode turns any clip into a GIF — person or not, nothing removed — and you choose the start point and length before uploading. This is convert gif territory either way — convert video into gif, or think of it as changing video to gif and picking the range first. Add convert to animated gif to that list too: same trim-then-render step. It's a gif creator that starts from footage, not a blank canvas.
- Transparent GIF: cut the person out and the GIF comes back see-through, ready for Discord, Slack or a stream overlay. That's how you make image transparent when the image is a moving GIF, not a still photo.
More than the cut-out
- Video to GIF — the quick path: trim in the browser before upload (max 20 seconds) and skip the heavy processing entirely when all you want is a GIF.
- GIF Compressor — a gif compressor for the file a video-to-GIF export leaves behind, before you paste it somewhere with an upload-size limit.
- Transparent WebM — real alpha for editors and web pages.
- AI Video Enhancer — a quality enhancer video pass for footage that came out soft or noisy, before or after the background comes out.
- OBS overlays — yourself as a floating cut-out on stream, with the settings that actually matter.
- Green screen vs AI matting — an honest comparison of when a real green screen still wins.
- Webcam background remover — record straight from your webcam and upload, no separate screen-recorder step first.
Against Unscreen and the editor plug-ins: Unscreen's free tier watermarks and caps length; plug-ins want a subscription. Here it is free without watermark — the honest limit is processing time, because video matting is heavy and the queue is shared.
What happens to your file
1 Drop a video
Common formats accepted. A person or clear subject works best.
2 GPU cuts it out
The model separates subject from background on every frame.
3 Transparent video
Drop it into your editor, stream or page. Your upload is wiped automatically.
Honest expectations
The model shines on people and clearly defined subjects with decent lighting. Fast motion blur, subject-colored backgrounds and very busy scenes make edges harder, so if your footage is tricky, expect some cleanup. Video is heavy: processing takes minutes, not seconds, and that's stated on the site rather than hidden.
